All About Aesthetics
Font, color scheme, set design
Brainless Babe's physique is very important, especially to me since I want the film to be vintage, elegant, and very chic. Font takes a big part in the aesthetics and mood for the film. The font of the opening credits will set a feeling for how the rest of the film may be. I researched some examples of movies that have fitting font and found the following:
These fonts all suit their movies very well. Some are rigid, some depict terror, others are spacious, etc. For Brainless Babe, I want a pretty font. One that sways and feels like old Hollywood.
I'll end up using one most similar to any of the following depending on what's available to me on my editing software:
Once I have my font chosen when I begin editing, I'll place it in a corner of each shot so the audience could focus on the model and the environment around her.Until next time!

Finding the One
I found a song! It fits so beyond well, I'm thrilled!
The song:
Burlesque (2010) is in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. That film was such a grand piece of art with all the costume design, makeup, music, color schemes, plot, etc. One song that was performed by Christina Aguilar is called "The Beautiful People". I listened to the first minute and three seconds and I could picture the model at the photoshoot so vividly, I had to seek permission to use it.
Spotify - The Beautiful People
YouTube - The Beautiful People
The Journey:
I knew I wanted a song that felt very Hollywood-esque, as one might say. I wanted the audience to feel whatever the model is trying to portray; something that would touch the viewer's heart, soul, mind; whichever (as I explained in my blog titled "Why I Need a Song").
I opened Spotify whenever I had free time and started to find songs that feel very Hollywood Fashion. At first I thought, lets do classy, elegant Hollywood, rather than upbeat. However, I realized that the film isn't meant to come off as deep as the problem. I want it to alleviate some of the stress but still focus on the issue within the industry.
Some songs I listened to were:
Not a Bad Thing - Justin Timberlake
And more that can be found on my playlist that I made specifically for songs I might have used.
Here's the playlist: VM
Copyright:
Obviously, copyright is a major factor in creating content. I googled who the rights of "Beautiful People" belonged to and I was asnwered with LP, formally known as Laura Pergolizzi. LP is a singer-songwriter who's written for several well-known artists like Rihanna, Celine Dion, Cher, Leona Lewis, Christina Aguilera, and more.
I went to LP's website where there was a tab for contact and wrote the following email:

The Necessities...
Thus far, I have created the idea, acquired extras, rented a studio, and managed to have a professional photographer on set that could assist with any camera work and lighting. I have several cameras that I could use to film the opening but I don't know which one would work best. I was thinking my iPhone would be great because I could buy effects to place over the camera lens and create different color schemes and lighting with that. I bought a kit from amazon just a couple days ago and many lenses came inside. I didn't buy it for Brainless Babe, but it could work!
Here's the link if you'd like to check out the kit! It's amazing.
My next step would be to finalize the mood board for the model. By doing this, I could use anything in my closet that I know would fit well, and I would then have time to purchase anything I'm missing. As of right now, I think she would be wearing very classy, simple colors, like white, black, and nudes. I want the vibe to feel modern, but with a vintage visual effect. For clothes that give off this vibe, I'd go to Zara, H&M, and Urban Outfitters. Maybe I'll go sometime this week! As for makeup, I have tons of it! I have palettes, blushes, shadows, lip colors, mascaras; you name it. Let's see what I can put together.
See you soon,
Isabella
Film Day!
The day has been set! March 13, 2022.; the day Brainless Babe will get to begin filming! Back in my Perfect Planning blog, I mentioned a studio named Face2Face; one I've shot at several times thanks to my amazing photographer. Anyway, I texted him asking when the studio was available, towards mid March as I'll be away this weekend, and he said March 12 or 13. I texted my friends to see what day they could help me on and they said either!
It will be 8 of us at the studio shooting from 1-5pm. Since we're under 21, my photographer said he'd have to be there in order for us to rent out the studio. It was 25 dollars an hour and I'm beyond excited for the day to arrive. I texted 8 specific people: Mia, Sabrina, Olivia, Xamir, Sebastian, Sophia, Aneesa, and John Henry. I needed the space to look crowded as a normal photoshoot would. Some will do hair, some will do makeup, two will be photographers, and others will be "directing the photoshoot".
I'm ready!

Why I Need a Song
Now I'm on a mission to find my song for the film opening; one that gives the same effect. I'm starting to look far before I begin editing because of copyright. I understand that I must acquire permission from whoever owns the song to use it in my project.

To Whom This May Apply...
Lets discuss Brainless Babe and it's target audience:
Target Audience is key to a successful film. Evidently, with no audience, there are no views, no sales, no anything of the sort that would potentially bring success. Properly identifying a target audience builds the best foundation for a film's release. During production it is something that should be running through your head constantly; what's something that the target audience wants to obtain from the film? Something they would admire?
Brainless Babe has a large target audience that is predominantly female. Since the film focuses on a young girl starting out as a model in the fashion industry, the target audience entails people in the fashion industry, teen girls, models, photographers, makeup artists, and more of all ages. This film would do really well if marketed properly towards these people as their lives, and for some their careers, revolves around shared goals and emotions as every day passes. Movies with similar target audiences include a Devil Wears Prada, What a Girl Wants, Mean Girls, and so forth.
